Sinai Peninsula

The Sinai Peninsula is a triangular landmass covering approximately 61,100 square kilometers, stretching 370 km in length and between 150 and 240 km in width. It serves as a natural land bridge between Africa and Asia, bordered to the east by the Gulf of Aqaba, to the west by the Gulf of Suez, and to the northeast by the Negev Desert.

The southern part of the Sinai Peninsula is defined by dramatic granite mountains that slope steeply toward the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. Moving north, the landscape transitions into a limestone plateau, then opens into a wide, sandy coastal plain stretching from the Suez Canal toward the Gaza Strip and Israel.
